Commerson dolphin

Fun fact of the day…

The commerson dolphin doesn’t look much like a dolphin at all. With its short rounded head, it could easily be mistaken for a porpoise. But its unique black-and-white coloring makes it look more like a miniature killer whale.

The Pacific white-sided dolphin gets its name from two very lightly colored grey patches on its sides that appear to be white. Beyond its coloring, what sets the Pacific white-sided dolphin apart from others is its unusually large dorsal fin.
